On Singular Perturbations of Order S, S 2, of the Free Dynamics: Existence and Completeness of the Wave Operators
For a large class of operators H a formula for the resolvent will be derived and suucient conditions will be given in order that the resolvent difference (H?z) ?1 ?(H 0 ?z) ?1 is compact resp. the wave operators (H; H 0) exist and are complete; here H 0 denotes the free quantum mechanical Hamil-tonian. The mentioned class of operators contains, a.o., the generator of a Brownian motion with kill...
متن کاملTopics in Singular Perturbations and Hybrid Asymptotic-Numerical Methods
Hybrid asymptotic-numerical methods are used to study various singular perturbation problems where innnite logarithmic asymptotic expansions occur. In particular, they are used to sum the innnite logarithmic expansions that arise for a low Reynolds number ow problem and for certain two-dimensional eigenvalue problems in perforated domains. Asymptotic and numerical methods are also used to analy...
متن کاملOn the Asymptotic Behavior of Elliptic, Anisotropic Singular Perturbations Problems
In this paper, we consider anitropic singular perturbations of some elliptic boundary value problems. We study the asymptotic behavior as ε → 0 for the solution. Strong convergence in some Sobolev spaces is proved and the rate of convergence in cylindrical domains is given.
متن کاملAsymptotic Completeness for Rayleigh Scattering
It is expected that the state of an atom or molecule, initially put into an excited state with an energy below the ionization threshold, relaxes to a groundstate by spontaneous emission of photons which propagate to spatial infinity. In this paper, this picture is established for a large class of models of non-relativistic atoms and molecules coupled to the quantized radiation field, but with t...
متن کاملAsymptotic Completeness for Rayleigh Scattering
We consider an electron bound by some anharmonic external potential and coupled to the quantized radiation eld in the dipole approximation. We prove asymptotic completeness for the photon scattering. This means that an arbitrary initial state has a long time asymptotic, which consists of electron plus radiation eld in their coupled ground state and nitely many outgoing photons.
